So I just returned from my trip to Bali and, not only are the amazing weather withdrawals real, the food withdrawals are real tooooo! For any of you that follow me on Instagram (@geebangs) you will know I’m obsessed with all things food and drink related so I decided to write this little post about my fave places all over bali and what I recommend!
Boss Man Burger
Seminyak - @bossmanbali
Well lets just say…this place blew my mind! A farrrr superior alternative to Maccas for that 2am feed ;) and such value too! I ordered the Al Capone (pictured) which was not only super tasty but it was only $13 for a MASSIVE burger, which I sadly couldn’t even finish, as well as a decent serving of perfectly salted fries! The packaging was epic and the service amazing! I would happily make this place a local of mine if it ever came to Sydney!
P.s they will also deliver to your villa (win!)
Canggu - @cratecafe
If you are after a super fresh breakfast or lunch, as well as amazing smoothies and juices, this place is for you! Located in the heart of Canggu, Crate Café has a huge breakfast menu with meals ranging from $4 - $6! This is definitely a welcome relief for a Sydneysider! I had the French toast (insaneeee) and the big breakfast (pictured) another day! I also had The Two Timer Smoothie (pictured) which is a mix of kiwi and dragon fruit! All were super delish! Another perk about this place is the coffee! It can be pretty hard to find decent coffee in Bali and being the coffee addict that I am this was a solid find!
P.s This place only serves breakfast and lunch so make sure you head there before 3pm!
This place is perfect for a tasty breakfast, lunch, dinner, a few cocktails or coffee…okay lets be real here, what doesn’t Sea Circus do? I ate here at least three times while in Bali and it’s one of my faves! The tacos (pictured) are delish (you can pick any three for a bit of variety – the fish are my fave) and they come with tomato salsa and guac! The cocktails are super refreshing and it’s the perfect spot for a few arvo drinks with lunch! My fave drink of course being the ‘Espresso Martini’ which was made with Patrón – oh yassssss! Another place which also sells legit coffee – so this baby is a winner in my eyes! Be sure to get there early though, as tables do fill up fast! (Takeaway is always an option)
Canggu - @watercressbali
The perfect dinner destination if you are after somewhere with a cool vibe and slightly finer dining! The menu here was nice and large with something for everyone! The produce was fresh and the service fast (which is always a plus). I had the Seared Scallops, Asian Herbs & Nam Jin and Tuna Takaki, Nori & Watercress Salad for entrée (pictured) and Organic Half Roast Chicken Quinoa, Corn, Mango, Cucumber, Cranberry, Corriander & Mint Salad as a main dish! If you do enjoy a drink with dinner then the lychee martini is a must!
P.s They are also open for breakfast and lunch with a massssive menu (they also have an extensive range of raw cakes – yum!) Tip: You can also book online to ensure you score a seat!
Canggu, Uluwatu and Seminyak - @nalubowls
This place has taken a little part of meeeee! I will 100% be back here every Bali trip! The freshest, tastiest bowls of yummm ever!! I was lucky enough to try‘The Mavericks’ (pictured 1st) acai bowl and the ‘Uluwatu’ bowl (pictured 2nd). ‘Uluwatu’ was a mix of Dragon Fruit, strawberries, mango and coconut! The only downfall of Nalu Bowls is they are slightly pricey compared to other food in Bali, but in my opinion totally worth every cent! They are now open in 3 locations, which means even when you move around Bali you can get your fix!
Cocoon Beach Club
Legian - @cocoonbeachclub
Does two for one cocktails sound good to you? ;) It does to me! Cocoon Beach Club not only have amazing music and an awesome vibe, but they offer two for one cocktails from 4pm – 7pm (the perfect pre-drinking spot). Along with this they have an amazing tapas/ share menu in which you can pick any 5 dishes for around $25! The food selection is amazing I recommend the Tempura Soft Shell Crab, Roasted Duck Steam Buns and The Grilled Octopus! For happy hour drinks you can’t go past the Mango Madness (pictured) which is a mango and lychee mix – yum! Minimum spend for a cabana / day bed is around $60 per person but I highly recommend it! It saves you from having to sit at the edge of the pool all day juggling your drink, bag and food!
El Kabron, Peacatu
Not far from Uluwatu - @elkabronbali
This venue is one not to be missed! Around 15 minutes from Uluwatu it is 100% worth hiring a driver to spend a few hours here or soak the day away in the pool! The prime time is sun set and it is hands down one of the best places to drink a cocktail and do exactly that! The Spanish inspired menu offers a range of various Paellas - I tried a few and each was as amazing as the last! So you can’t go wrong no matter what you order!
The dessert and cocktails were also amazing! We ordered the dessert share plate so we can sample everythingggg and of course added a side of coconut and vanilla ice cream (both pictured). This venue is slightly pricey but perfect for a special occasion!
The Cashew Tree
Bingin Beach - @thecashewtree
Bingin Beach is totally worth the visit if you are staying in Uluwatu for a few days! Despite the few hundred steps to get down to the beach once you are there you’ll feel right at home! The Cafe is not far from ‘Cashew Tree Beach' and serves a variety of fresh and colourful food! I had a thing for dragonfruit in Bali so I opted for the Dragon fruit smoothie, which didn’t disappoint! The healthy naked chicken burrito (pictured) was delishhhh and left me super satisfied afterwards! The venue is super cute and the perfect place to relax after a morning at the beach!
